Crystals I - M

Picture
Iolite:

Iolite is said to be a great stone for those who need to reclaim their power. It encourages you to take responsibility for yourself, become more independent, and to release that which holds you back.

Picture
Jade:

Jade is known as a crystal of good luck and fortune in pretty much all areas of life. It brings peace, harmony, tranquility and abundance, ensuring that only good comes to the person who is wearing it. In this sense it is also known as a stone of protection, protecting the wearer from negativity and bad luck.

It also encourages positive friendships.

Jade is known as the 'dream' stone, as it is great for helping you connect with higher realms, practice dream work, and emotional healing. It is said to help whoever uses it realise who they truly are and gain wisdom through tranquility.

Jade can come in many different colours and each has a slight disposition towards one of the more general Jade associations. Below are just some examples:

Black - especially good for protection and warding against negativity

Blue - especially good for peace, tranquility, and dream work

Lavender - especially good for emotional healing

Orange - especially good in bringing happiness and joy

Red - especially good for removing blockages that may hold one back from realising who they really are

Picture
Jasper:

Jasper is a fantastic nurturer and a great stone to use when you are feeling a bit vulnerable. It can soothe nerves and anxiety, help balance us, and absorb negativity from within us and around us. I have found that Jasper is a very subtle stone, but very powerful. Usually when I am feeling vulnerable or a bit sorry for myself, I turn to Jasper to help.

It is a great stone to use if you are going through a period of difficulty or recovery, as it helps raise our vibrations and revitalises us in a gentle, nurturing way. It is a stone of perseverance.

Like many crystals, there are many different 'types' of Jasper. One of the most common is red Jasper, which I work with a lot and really embodies the associations above.

Black Jasper - Great for protection and grounding when you may feel spacey and disconnected

Dalmation Jasper - Another grounding stone, it can help remove illusion and help you to consider your strengths and weaknesses without bias. It is also said to bring 'fun' into your life and loyalty in your relationships.

Green Jasper - Can help bring balance and purge disease and feelings of obsession

Leopard Skin Jasper - Can help you connect with your guides and aid in journeying

Ocean Jasper - A stone which can help encourage patience and the accepting of responsibility

Red Japser - Pretty much all of the associations that I have mentioned in the main body of this text

Yellow Jasper - Helps calm the nerves and emotions

Picture
Jet:

Jet is a strong protector, and can protect against almost all things, physically, mentally, and spiritually. It can also help us to face our own weaknesses and negativity, dispel fear and help us break any negative bonds we may cling to.

Picture
Kunzite:

Kunzite is strongly associated with the heart chakra. It can bring peace, tranquility, and compassion. It can also help protect us and our energies, and give us space to heal. Then when we are ready, it can help us to open our hearts and accept the love and compassion that others give us as well as that which we give them, helping us to build stronger relationships with others
.

Picture
Kyanite:

Kyanite is associated with communication and creativity - this combination makes it a great stone for those who might use their voice in pursuit of the arts, such as singers or poets. It also aids in communication with the spirit world or the otherworld, or with our guides.

It is said to be great in aiding us to balance the energies within ourselves, bringing peace, tranquility, and clarity.

Picture
Labradorite:

Labradorite is a beautiful stone. Inuit legend claims that it fell from the frozen fire of the Northern Lights, and the colours you see shimmering inside this stone is the Aurora Borealis itself.

It is said to be a stone of transformation and can aid you through periods of great change by helping you find the strength to persevere. It helps banish fear and insecurities which may hold us back.

It can also be used as an aid to anything related to the psychic and our intuition, and help us break through illusion and see the truth.

Picture
Lapis Lazuli:

Lapis Lazuli is a stone with a rich history. Used for thousands of years for various different ailments, it is a combination of calcite, lazurite, and pyrite. Today it is most commonly associated with mystery, the psychic, and our intuition. It can help us dive deep within ourselves and gain inner wisdom.

Lapis Lazuli is also a stone of protection, especially against psychic attacks.

Carrying a piece of Lapis Lazuli with you can also help you to speak more openly and honestly. It encourages creativity, objectivity, compassion and a sense of morality.

Picture
Lepidolite:

Lepidolite is a supportive stone. It is great for those who are recovering from addiction or who struggle with depression or anxiety. It can be used to aid in any sort of emotional healing, and helps release negativity and encourages us to work for the highest good.

Picture
Lodestone:

A stone which I think is very underrated! Lodestone has magnetic properties due to its structure. As such, this is a great stone to use when you want to draw something towards you. That could be in physical aspects such as business (drawing in customers, attracting the perfect job, etc.), or aspects of your emotional self (such as drawing more love towards you). With this stone being a bit of an 'all rounder', it does require you to really focus on your intent to make sure it is drawing your specific desire, but I highly recommend this stone. I also use it in my lithomancy kits as my personal stone, as it makes me think of drawing the 'right' energies and stones to me in my readings.
Picture
Malachite:

Malachite is well known as a strong healer of both the physical and mental. Beware though - Malachite is one of the stones most often faked. Luckily, most fakes are pretty obvious. Check out my blog for more information on how to tell real malachite from fake. But if you are looking for any sort of healing, then malachite is always one of the go-to crystals.
Picture
Moldavite:

Moldavite is a very popular stone right now. Approximately 14.8 million years ago a meteorite fell in what is now Stuttgart in Germany. The intense heat of the meteorite and the speed at which it fell transformed the ground around it, and thanks to the size of the impact, scattered it across the Czech Republic. This is Moldavite. Thanks to its extra-terrestial nature, it is said to be one of the most powerful healers in the crystal realm.

Due to the way in which it was formed and its location, it is expensive, and fakes are easy to come by. You can easily pay over a hundred pounds for a 5g piece, so keep your wits about you if you aim to purchase some.

As well as being a powerful healer, moldavite is said to be great for the chakras and spiritual growth and guidance.

Picture
Moonstone:

As you may be able to discern from the name, moonstone is considered a very feminine stone and is associated with the moon. As such, it is said to be especially good for problems most often experienced by women, such as period pains and tension, and pregnancy.

It can help bring peace, serenity, and balance, and can help aid sleep. It can also help in helping us connect to our higher selves and our intuition.
