I love making oils - it's quick, effective, and they can be used discreetly. My only problem is not having enough excuses to use them! Having been gifted a new set of essential oils for Christmas I decided to get my mixing on.
I always use a carrier oil for the base. There are many different oils you can use but I tend to stick with Olive Oil as it is easy to obtain and I can use it for cooking also.
Sometimes I infuse herbs into the olive oil. If my mixture requires a particular herb/oil that I have an infusion of (you will see I use a rosemary one in one of the mixtures below) I will use that as the carrier oil.
Sometimes I don't have the corresponding oil for the herb I need, so I will add the dried herb to the mixture (again, you will see I have done this when creating one of my mixtures that requires Mistletoe).
Once I have done this I will mix my oils, adding any herbs first, followed by the carrier and then essential oils whilst focusing on the intent of the oil. After, I will infuse it with my own power, chanting my intent to give it an extra boost.
I tend to make small batches as generally they can be stored up to a year if kept in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, so I can be sure to get through them.

Once I have done this Istore the bottles away, ready to use when I need. The cleansing oil, for example, I use to clean my alter and to help cleanse any new tools I receive. The 'protection' oil I will dab lightly on me before leaving the house - how you use the oil depends on the purpose for which you have created the oil.
Here are four of my own recipes for oils that I have created. Make sure you always do a skin test before using new oils to make sure you don't have any reaction and seek medical help immediately if you do. Remember, I am not a registered medical professional in any way whatsoever so do your own research, speak with a doctor, and whatever you do DO NOT ingest essential oils.
