Crystals S - Z

Picture
Selenite:

Selenite is a fantstic amplifier of energy, in a similar way to quartz. It is often used in energy healing as it can help rasie the vibrations of our chakras and aid in cleansing and aligning them. It is a great crystal for those who want to tap into their higher selves and work on a 'higher' plane, and can give a boost to pretty much any kind of magickal working. Because of these properties, it is often associated with angel magick or any sort of work which centres around connecting with divine energies. It brings peace and serenity, purity, clarity, and helps us fulfil our spiritual potential.

Picture
Sodalite:

Sodalite  is a stone of truth and can help us view situations objectively and uncover the truth in all things. It is associated with clarity, perception, intuition, and intelligence.

In addition to the above, it is also said to be a calming and soothing stone, and is especially good in calming those who may react instinctively and defensively. It promotes team work and fellowship, and so is great to use in situations where you may have to work with others.

Picture
Sugilite:

With its beautiful purple colouring, this stone is often associated with the intuition, and all things related to the psychic. It can aid in soul searching, and looking within ourselves, especially in matters related to our identity and purpose.

Sugilite is said to be able to absorb negativity and transform it into positive energies. This also works on a physical level, and it is said that it can be used to ease headaches. As such, it is sometimes used in healing.

This crystal is also associated with love, and it has been written that wearing a piece of sugilite will help attract your true love.

Picture
Sunstone:

As you may infer from the name, sunstone is often associated with solar energies. It is a stone which brings joy, happiness, and can help dispel the clouds of negativity which can surround us. When we need a pick-me-up, the sunstone can help by helping us shake off that negativity and brighten our mood.

It is also associated with freedom, romance, independence, and luck.

Picture
Tigers Eye:

Tigers eye is a stone of courage. It can bring strength, determination, will, and empowerment. It is a practical stone which can help us weigh up decisions and make them with clarity, and encourages integrity.

It is also associated with grounding and protection.

There are several different 'types' of tigers eye; red tigers eye is often known as cats eye or dragons eye (and you can read more it at my page here). There is also blue tigers eye available.
Picture
Topaz:

Topaz is a useful stone when communication issues are at the fore. It encourages luck, good health, fortune, and happiness.

Picture
Tourmaline:

Tourmaline is a stone which can dispel fear and bring a sense of confidence and strength in oneself. It brings balance and happiness, and helps us practice compassion, tolerance, and understanding. With the way in which it dispels fear and negativity, it is often associated with healing, especially where mental health is concerned.

Picture
Turquoise:

Turquoise is a stone of serenity and positive thinking. As a stone of purification, it can help remove and protect against negativity and encourage more positive attitudes. As such, it is also associated with love and friendship.

Turquoise can also bring balance, wisdom, sensitivity, and can evoke a sense of quiet strength within us.

Picture
Unakite:

Unakite is a stone which is often used for grounding, and also in balancing the emotions.

Picture
Verdite:

Verdite is a stone of what is. It is great for those who are undertaking a journey of self-discovery or shadow work, because it will show things exactly as they are - even the negative. Not one for the faint hearted, but one which is great for cutting through illusion, revealing the truth, and helping us see what we need to work on within ourselves.
