13/12/2020 0 Comments Water ScryingI took a break from the blog last week (I realise I have only been doing it about three weeks, I know!). But with the release of divination section on the website today, I thought I would try my hand at some water scrying again (it has been a while since I have done any scrying). If you don't know what water scrying is, or how to do it, then check out the page on water scrying in the divination section!
Scrying has always felts a bit daunting to me, even though I've been practicing for several years. I always worry that I'm going to get nothing through, especially if I have been successful the previous time, and tend to put pressure on myself. Generally, I need to relax and accept that just because I don't 'see' anything doesn't mean I'm not doing it properly; sometimes, the messages don't want to reveal themselves! We can be tired, unable to focus, etc. - this is perfectly natural, and not a reason to get despondent over it. I made myself comfy on the sofa, and turned off the lights in the half of the room I was sitting in. For this session, I decided to use a small, black cauldron to hold the water, which I held in my lap so I could stare down into it. I also played an album of ocean noises in the background, as I find this helps my mind let go when performing meditation, healing, divination, etc. Your preparations can be personal to you though; maybe you prefer to burn some incense, or sit with a particular crystal? There is no wrong or right way to do it. Usually it takes a while for images to start coming through, but this time was pretty quick. Almost immediately, my vision started going 'cloudy', those clouds moving before my eyes, which is usually a sign that messages are going to start coming through. Although be careful - usually this realisation can bring you right back to 'consciousness', and you have to work to get back to that state again! The first symbol I saw in the water was a mushroom. This symbol has many meanings, one of those being the underworld. Combined with the next symbol I saw, a waning moon which symbolises inner reflection, I believe these came as signs that I was in the right state to start receiving messages. Following these symbols, I received the below: An Arrow - Represents progress, energy directed towards a goal or your target. An Ultrasound - Not birth, but rather new opportunities, a new venture, or new beginning A Thunderbolt - The Celts believed that lightning was sacred, and where it strikes is also sacred; it also represents strength, truth, fertility, and chaos An Umbrella - Protection from suffering, it can also be seen as a status of wealth A Bowling Ball - Represents performance - I am in control A Dog - Represents protection, guidance, and loyalty A Horse - Courage, freedom, power, independence, and endurance On the surface, these seem like really random images, with not much connection. However, if we take a look, we can put a narrative to it. This will be a time of progress (the arrow); a new opportunity is, or will, present itself (the ultrasound). This will be a necessary change in my life, and it may be intense (the thunderbolt). However, no matter how intense it is, I will find myself protected and supported (the umbrella and the dog), as long as I put the effort in to overcome any obstacles and perform at my best (the bowling ball). I will gain and grow a lot from this experience, such as power, and independence (the horse). This all seems exptremely relevant to a situation I am in at the moment at work; I am about to start a new role, in a new team, which will be a massive change for me. I feel pretty confident in saying that this all relates to that particular situation, but time will tell if I'm right on that!
